Choice of ETC 3/4 star modern holiday lodge cottages, ideal family base with indoor pool & play area

Captain Cooks Haven offer a superb choice of modern holiday cottages sleeping from two to eight people, and all furnished to a high standard. The Haven is beautifully set on two levels, and sits beside the banks of the River Esk and just one mile away from bustling seaside resort Whitby, with it's array of attractions including Whitby Abbey. All cottages offer an ideal touring centre for exploring nearby fishing villages, sandy bays and seaside resorts, including idyllic Robin Hood's Bay. Amenities are extensive, including the use of a superb indoor heated swimming pool, and alongside the pool is an exciting playground for children for all ages. The historic city of York, Castle Howard and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park are within easy reach. We're the perfect location for anglers as there is deep sea fishing from Whitby harbour, or river fishing for salmon and trout nearby.

As well as the heated indoor swimming pool other amenities include a gas barbecue, the Children's adventure playground Launderette, boating on the Esk, sea and river fishing, a golf course within easy reach and Whitby's historic abbey and heritage centre. The carnival and regatta are held in August on the 6th,7th, and 8th and Whitby Folk Festival is on Aug 20–27. Many attractions are nearby including the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, and Flamingoland Theme Park which is just 20 miles away.

Rooms Description

All the cottages are built in the style of traditional fishermen's cottages and most comfortably furnished and very well equipped. There is also a two bedroom bungalow suitable for parties including disabled visitors. All cottages include a colour TV, radio/cassette, kitchen including 4-ring hob, microwave and full-size oven (or combination microwave/convection oven in specific Endeavour cottages), a bath and/or shower, bed linen and duvets, beds made up for your arrival, a patio or balcony, log effect fire and night storage heating, and gas and electricity are included. Babies must be included in the party total and we offer cots and highchairs at £12pw each. We do ask that all-male and all-female, or young mixed groups to please check when booking. Pets are welcome at £20pw each (max 1) in specific cottages only.

Specialities

Endeavour Cottage Sleeps 4 and has two bedrooms, one double and one twin. This cottage includes a bath with overhead shower. Cooke's Cottage Sleeps 6 and was a new addition in 2004. This cottage has three bedrooms with fantastic views of the River Esk. On the ground floor there's a lounge/diner with balcony, and a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The layout also includes a cloakroom with wc, and on the first floor there is one double and one twin bedroom. The bath also has an overhead shower, as well as a separate wc, perfect for families. On the second floor there is a king size double which can convert into two singles, please request this if required when booking. This rooms has an ensuite shower. Full gas central heating is provided throughout. Pets are not welcome in this cottage. We also offer a choice of other delightful holiday cottages to choose from, some sleeping upto eight people.
