Welcome to Craven Cottage, a listed building full of character and with historical links to Sir William Craven, who was the basis for the infamous folk tale character of Dick Whittington. The cottage enjoys a beautiful position in the Wharfedale village of Appletreewick near Skipton. It is the ideal base for a self catering holiday in the area. We are located just a field away from the River Wharfe where you can enjoy pleasant walks along the riverbank or visit the village which has two lovely pubs, serving excellent food. The cottage offers an excellent location for walkers with mile upon mile of beautiful countryside routes on your doorstep. The area is also perfect for cycling, fishing and horse riding. For golfers, Skipton Golf Course is just 8 miles, whilst Harrogate Golf Course is 20 miles away. Spend a day exploring Grassington or Ikley, both of which have an array of shops, restaurants and regular markets. Bursall, Hebden and Linton are all beautiful villages dotted around the area, each offering individual charm and character.
The cottage has a large flagged living room with dining area, open fireplace and TV with Sky-Freeview. The large country kitchen has a range cooker (electric), fridge, freezer, washer-dryer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster etc. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, a kingsize double and two standard doubles (one with double futon). There is a large house bathroom with free-standing roll top bath and separate shower. Linen and towels included, weekly cleaning and towel and linen change. There is no garden but a small outside seating space at the front of the cottage with lovely views.
