The guest house is set in the historic Barolin Farm Estate and offers comfortable and welcoming accommodation in a relaxing location. There are a range of elegant guest rooms available, and a hearty breakfast is served each morning in the chic and splendid dining room. The guest house also has a spacious drawing room ideal for guest relaxation and a walled garden with a secluded tennis court.
The guest house is in an ideal location for exploring this stunning area of the country. The World Heritage Site of Studley Royal, including the ruins of the 12th century Fountains Abbey, is just a few miles away and has a range of activities for the whole family. The cathedral city of Ripon is close by, and has a range of tourist attractions including a range of museums and historic houses in the city centre and Lightwater Valley theme park and Ripon Racecourse just outside the centre. The spa town of Harrogate is also close by with it's famous Turkish bath, cosmopolitan shops and historic buildings. Thirsk is a few miles away, and is the home of renowned author James Herriot and the World of James Herriot Museum. Your hostess Belinda can also recommend places to visit and activities if you're unfamiliar with the area.
The guest house has a range of elegantly designed guest rooms, all with their own individual character and charm. All rooms are en suite. Choose from a choice of rooms including the o'Hara Room with classic antique French twin beds, plenty of wardrobe space and separate sitting and relaxing area, the bright Garden Room with two French windows overlooking the garden and terrace and the Scandinavian inspired Blixen Room with views north over the courtyard and south over the walled garden.
The guest house is also licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies. Alice is the personal events and wedding planner, who can help guests to create their perfect wedding day, as well as a range of rooms for wedding guest accommodation. The guest house also has four self catering chalets available accommodating up to six guests.
