Argyle House is located right in the heart of the West Cliff conservation area and only 5 minutes walk to Whitby town centre, harbour and beach. It is ideal for those wishing to explore this beautiful part of Yorkshire. With its interesting cobbled streets and original buildings leading up to Whitby Abbey, visitors will find Whitby's historic past enchanting and addictive. The Heartbeat TV series is often filmed at the bottom of the street, making it an ideal place to see the stars. Heartbeat is based 6 miles away in the village of Goathland and is a train ride away on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Whitby is also home to Captain Cooks Museum and the Grand Turk Replica ship. Other specialist events such as Goth weeks, Folk Week, Gospel Weekend, Linedancing weekends, Live Music, Whitby Regatta, Musicport are all based in this popular area.

Rooms Description

Our friendly Guest House dates back to the 1850's and has been lovingly restored to offer full En-suite accommodation. Many of our guests are returners. All bedrooms have a colour television, clock radio alarm, comfortable chairs, hairdryer and unlimited tea and and coffee making. The en-suites are all refurbished and equipped with electric showers and a range of toiletries and towels. We have Six Double En-Suite Rooms, one room has a four poster bed. A twin/triple rooms also available.

We are awarded the 4 STAR rating by the English Tourism Council. (They stayed over 8 nights in 2007) We can also arrange YOUR choice of flowers, wines and champaign - ready for your arrival. Or you can leave it up to us, we can supply a package deal of red or white wine and a nice Bouquet of flowers for £20.
