From the Chiltern Guest House, cross the famous old swing bridge and walk along the cobbled streets with it's quaint shops and narrow alleyways and climb the 199 steps which lead up to the Abbey with its super cliff top location and inspiration for Bram Stokers Dracula. After all that exercise why not treat yourself to hot fish and chips by the harbourside or enjoy a well earned evening meal in one of Whitby's many restaurants. Just a few miles from Whitby you can visit the 'Heartbeat' village of Goathland with the North Yorkshire Railway running through. The station has been used as a location in the film 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'. All around the Whitby area there is plenty to see and do, beaches, boats trips, walking, exploring and the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors and York being well within travelling distance.
