High Tor is an ideal base from which to explore the town on foot, from the narrow cobbled streets to the foot of the 199 steps leading to the ancient Abbey and church yard of St. Marys. Whitby is dominated by the cliff-top ruins of a beautiful 13th century Abbey. This quaint maritime town, with its old cobbled streets, picturesque houses and sandy blue flag beach, is set among fine stretches of coast with spectacular cliffs and bays. 199 steps lead you down from the Abbey to the old town where you find yourself in a shoppers' paradise. With an array of unique shops offering local crafts, famous Whitby Jet jewellery, maritime memorabilia and antiques, you are sure to find that holiday treasure. A selection of diverse attractions includes the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Victorian Jet Works, the Dracula Experience and Whitby Museum.

Our quality accommodation of double, twin, family and deluxe rooms are well appointed, tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. All rooms are fully en-suite, apart from one which has a private shower adjacent, colour television, central heating, radio alarm clock, hairdryer and hospitality tray. All bedrooms are provided with towels and toiletries

Specialities

We have two de-luxe bedrooms available, one features an 1850 antique superkingsize bed. While the other has been refurbished this year, it has a kingsize bed, large en-suite with walk in shower and double his and hers sinks. Both rooms have origanal marble fireplaces, and origanal ceiling mouldings.
