About this property

Sunnyvale House bed and breakfast is Victorian, built in 1863 with beautiful original features. We are non smoking for the comfort and safety of all our guests. We have a welcoming home where guests have access to their rooms at all times. All rooms are En-Suite. A good breakfast is guaranteed, served in the bright South facing dining room. All guests have a choice of Cereals and Fruit followed by an extensive cooked breakfast choice, from full Yorkshire Breakfast with locally produced sausages to Whitby Kippers; Boiled Eggs with Soldiers and delicious Vegetarian options.

Situated on the West Cliff we are ideally located for all of Whitby's many attractions. The Beach, Pavilion, Town, Harbourside, Shops and Restaurants are all just a short stroll away on Whitby's Westside. Cross the historic swing bridge spanning the river Esk to visit the Eastside with its charming narrow streets, Whitby Jet works, Captain Cook museum, Kipper smoke house, plus many enchanting shops. Climb the famous 199 steps to the delightful Parish Church of Saint Mary's, pause for a moment, not just to catch your breath, but also to take in the atmosphere that inspired Bram Stoker to write his most famous novel 'Dracula'. On then to our most historic landmark, Whitby Abbey, now owned by English Heritage it has an interactive visitor centre to guide you through the fascinating history of this spectacular ruin. There are just five guest rooms - 3 doubles; 1 twin and 1 family room. Being small means we can offer a friendly personal touch. All rooms are en-suite, (some with baths), are centrally heated throughout, and have TV, radio alarms and hospitality trays.
