Welcome to the Firs Guest House, situated in the beautiful coastal village of Runswick Bay, just 8 miles north of Whitby and on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Our family run guest house enjoys an enviable position close to a beautiful sandy beach complete with rock pools, fossils hunting and jet finding. Our central location means that we are perfect for touring and sight seeing. We cater for singles, couples and families.

Runswick Bay is a quaint seaside village just 20 minutes away from Whitby. We are within driving distance of the historic city of York and the North York Moors National Park is perfect for walkers of all abilities and why not take a ride on the famous railway? We are surrounded by stunning coastal villages including Staithes and Robins Hood Bay which have a traditional feel, unique shops and an excellent range of eateries.

The Firs is a large detached family owned and run residence at the top of the bank, Runswick Bay. Offering a warm welcome, comfortable and spacious accommodation on ground floor and first floor levels. All of our 12 rooms are en-suite and are equipped with a colour television, tea and coffee making facilities and easy chairs. The accommodation is classified by the e.t.c and y.t.b as four diamonds. We offer a mixture of double, four poster, family and single rooms.

Special to this property

We can provide a delicious evening meal, for residents and none residents alike. All our dishes are cooked to order and we use local produce wherever possible. Although we are not licensed, we are more than happy to chill, open and serve alcohol brought by our guests for no charge.
