Welcome to the Bagdale Hall Hotel in Whitby centre, a spectacular Tudor Manor House dating from 1516 and boasting an abundance of historic charm within which guests can relax and enjoy the highest standards of hospitality. Bagdale Hall forms one third of the accommodation buildings available to guests. No.4 Bagdale is a delightful Georgian property dating from 1790 whilst Bagdale Lodge is a spacious detached Georgian home dating from 1770. The heritage properties are located just a short stroll from Whitby harbour, the stunning cliff-top ruins of Whitby Abbey and many other attractions available in Whitby including the Captain Cook Memorial Museum. Each building offers beautiful, historic accommodation with numerous original features.

Offering an extensive menu, the on-site Restaurant serves delicious dishes and creative specialities. All meals are prepared under the supervision of the highly experienced head chef who uses the freshest local produce in every dish from the very best locally sourced cuts of meat and fresh from the catch Whitby seafood to seasonal vegetables to ensure that a high quality standard of dining can be enjoyed by every guests. The Restaurant offers vegetarian alternatives and also caters for unusual diets and special requirements. The comprehensive wine list offers a selection of flavours from around the world which will compliment any meal. Advanced booking is recommended as The Restaurant is also open to non-residents.

Original and period features within the rooms at Bagdale Hall are extensive, with the house retaining much of its original character. Stunning original features include beamed ceilings, stone mullioned windows with leaded lights and beautiful four poster romantic beds. The resultant effect creates the ideal atmosphere for history enthusiasts. Six bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities, five of which have four poster beds. No.4 Bagdale has eight bedrooms, all of which have four poster beds and en-suite bath or shower rooms. Bagdale Lodge is a former 1800s school and boasts 12 en-suite double bedrooms.

Specialities

All special dietary requirements can be catered for. Please inform on booking of any special needs. Steeped in history the Bagdale Hall is rumoured to be haunted by previous owner Capt. Browne Bushell who was executed in 1651 for treason. The hotel unfortunately does not welcome pets, except guide dogs by prior arrangement.
