The Helaina is located within a quiet area of Scarborough, yet is just a 5 minutes walk from Scarborough's North and South beaches, the town centre and historic harbour. There is no shortage of great Pubs, Bars and Restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel is perfectly placed for walkers, and superb local cliff walks are easily accessed from the hotel. Alternatively a few minutes drive brings you onto the North Yorkshire Moors. Free local parking permits are available to our guests on arrival, and the Hotel has a licensed drinks service.

All our rooms are newly refurbished to a very high standard and are modern comfortable and stylish. No chintz...we promise! All rooms have: high quality en-suite facilities with soft bathrobes, large bath towels and beautiful Damana toiletries. Our bed rooms are packed with goodies including LCD Digital TV, radios, hair driers, alarm clocks and refreshements including biscuits, tea, coffee, fruit tea and hot chocolate. Guests can expect the highest quality decor. Our Deluxe Sea View rooms have King Size sleigh beds, 26" LCD Digital TV's and 2 arm chairs in the bay window with stunning views.

Specialities

For guests preferring a self catering option we offer the spacious Lighthouse Self Catering Cottage which sleeps 6 to 8 people. Lighthouse Cottage is a beautiful 18th Century Fisherman's cottage located on a quiet street at the heart of Scarborough's Old Town very close to Scarborough Castle. It has wonderful views over the Harbour and the South Bay. Original features include an Inglenook fireplace and steep winding stairs. The cottage is equiped and furnished to a high standard throughout and outside there is a south-facing patio, enclosed on all sides with a built in BBQ.
