We're the George Hotel, an impressive hotel with 19 refurbished rooms, two bars, restaurant and entertainment and enough big screen sports coverage for the keenest of fans. WiFi is available throughout the bar area and in most rooms.
Whitby has a number of famous historical connections including Captain James Cook and Bram Stoker and you get a real feel for the past when you wander its narrow streets and alleys or explore the quayside. A short car ride or train trip will take you to the Yorkshire Moors National Park, and be sure to take your camera to capture images of the splendid and majestic scenery.
Fifteen of our ninteen rooms are ensuite. They're all very comfortable and we can offer a range of different occupancies from a double or twin to a family room for four. Each has the usual hospitality tray and colour television. Please take a look at our photo gallery to view the our rooms. In addition to breakfast in our restaurant we also serve a range of bar snacks and light meals. Bar meals are served on Saturday, with a carvery served on Sunday.
We have four large screens to show all the latest sports coverage from Sky HD and ESPN, in addition we provide entertainment most nights of the week, so if you're having a party you won't need to walk to town or take a cab!
