En-suite B&B Accommodation In The Heart Of Whitby With a Fantastic Restaurant And Bar Attached

Built in 1900 and formerly The Station, The George Hotel was purpose built opposite the bus and railway stations. Its central location and close proximity to public transport links provide the ideal base from which to explore Whitby and the surrounding areas. East and West beaches and amusements are only five minutes walk away, and the entrance to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Line is just across the road from us. The Hotel comprises of Rosie O’Grady’s bar and the newly refurbished George Hotel Bistro. Rosie O’Grady’s is a busy town centre bar and is popular all year round. It is open until late most evenings with live entertainment throughout the week, and a late night disco at weekends (some noise may be heard on lower floors).

Situated snugly in the basement of The George Hotel is our new look George Hotel Bistro. This hidden gem is open friday & saturday evenings and serves a wide variety of wholesome and delicious foods we have weekend specials using, wherever possible, delicious locally sourced meat and seafood fresh from the quayside! We can accommodate up to fifty people, and group bookings are welcome. The George Hotel is ideal for fishing parties,and pack lunches are available enquire for prices.

Rooms Description

There are nineteen bedrooms, with fifteen en-suite and four non-en-suite rooms. All rooms have colour television, tea and coffee making facilities.

Specialities

Situated snugly on the ground floor within the George Hotel is our Bistro. The George Hotel bistro serves a wide variety of fantastic tastey and wholesome cuisine using fresh Whitby seafood and prime local meats. The George Hotel Bistro is available to hire for private parties and functions all year round and throughout the day. Up to fifty people can enjoy a meal in the restaurant, or various buffets for up to one hundred people can be arranged. Please contact us for further details. It is advisable for larger dining parties to pre-order their main meals and we are happy to send out menus upon request.
