The Maynard is a family run, three star hotel in Scarborough offering a warm and friendly welcome to all. The proprietors, Stuart and Angelia, aim to make your visit to Scarborough a memorable and happy one. The Maynard has a licensed bar in which you can relax and meet your fellow guests whilst enjoying a pint of your favourite ale or a fine wine from our selection. The hotel occupies a fabulous position on the resort's South Cliff with views of the Prince of Wales gardens. The cliff lift, which takes you down to the beach and Spa Complex, is just a one minute walk away and we are within easy walking distance of the town centre.
Scarborough is situated around two magnificent bays, divided by the headland on which the remains of a 12th Century castle can be found. This popular Yorkshire coast resort boasts 383 acres of public gardens and parks and has much to offer visitors in terms of entertainment and amenities. Facilities to be found include the Spa Complex, Futurist Theatre, an indoor bathing pool, outdoor swimming complex, bowling and putting greens. Attractions are not limited to Scarborough itself and a little further to the north lies the rugged beauty of the North York Moors National Park, whilst to the west lie the magnificent Yorkshire Dales.
The Maynard has eleven en-suite bedrooms on three floors. There are a range of twin, double and family rooms on offer and each is decorated to a very high standard. All bedrooms have colour television and tea and coffee making facilities.
Although not a listed building the Maynard is situated in a conservation area on the beautiful South cliff with views of the Prince of Wales gardens. Originally constructed in the 1860s it was converted to a hotel during the 1930s.
