Welcome to the Brookhouse Guest House, known as Clapham's Little Secret! We are set in the quaint tourist village of Clapham, North Yorkshire, on the edge of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Brookhouse Guest House combines fine dining with comfortable & superior accommodation. All of our meals are homemade using locally sourced produce where possible. We are perfectly located as a base to explore the Yorkshire Dales, or a 20-30 mins drive finds you in the Lake District. If you enjoy outdoor acitivities visit the nearby Gisburn Forest where there are many mountain bike trails.
An ideal base for climbing the Three Yorkshire Peaks - Pen-y-Ghent; Ingleborough and Whernside. Clapham offers a variety of outdoor activities, shops and places of interest. Opposite Brookhouse runs Clapham Beck, from which the guest house and cafe derives it's name. The beck runs down from the slopes of Ingleborough mountain, through Ingleborough cave and the lake, over a waterfall and through the village, flowing beneath several bridges. The famous Ingleborough Cave can be reached from Brookhouse via the lakeside woodland walk through the historic Ingleborough Estate nature trail. This show cave has attracted many thousands of visitors ever since its discovery in 1837. An unforgettable experience for all the family, from toddlers in push chairs to senior citizens.
Having recently been awarded an AA Four Star Guest House rating, Brookhouse offers relaxing accommodation, comprising of a super king room that can be converted to a twin and three double bedrooms. Each room has a flat screen LCD TV, tea/coffee making facilities, WIFI and now all rooms have brand new ensuites complete with bathrobes! Beautiful Views of the surrounding town & Countryside can be admired from all rooms.
Saturday Night Fine Dining, we combine rustic dishes using locally sourced ingredients with a modern presentation in order to provide a truly unforgettable dining experience well loved by our regular customers. There are plenty of walks around and Britain's best caves are only 15 mins away, with Ingleton waterfalls walk 5 mins. Dogs welcome when staying at the Brookhouse by prior arrangement.
