Situated on the south side of the North Yorkshire Moors between Scarborough and Pickering yet only thirty miles north of York, Cliff House is a perfect hideaway. Located in the beautiful 5 acre grounds of Cliff House, an 18th century, grade 11 listed former manor house, the 5 cosy cottages sleep from 2 - 6 people. Each cottage is fully equipped to make your stay as relaxing as possible. All guests have the use of the indoor swimming pool, games room and Victorian Walled Garden with its children's play area and secret tree house. The lane at the side of Cliff House leads up through Chafer Wood to farmland and then to the Dalby Forest with its walking & 55k of new mountain cycling trails.

PEAR COTTAGE (sleeps 2 +1) Cosy, self-contained cottage, converted from the first floor wing of Cliff House overlooking the garden. Private entrance hall & staircase. Bathroom with over bath shower & WC. Spacious kitchen/dining room. Single pull down bed built into a cupboard, Separate lounge leading to a double bedroom with exposed beams. Full central heating. APPLE (sleeps 2) Converted from the laundry and apple store of Cliff House, a 16th century listed manor house. Private entrance to ground floor with a kitchen & dining area. Separate lounge. First floor has a double bedroom with views up the garden, bathroom/WC with shower over bath.

LILAC (sleeps 4) Spacious cottage converted from former stables and granary. Entrance porch with steps down to a fitted kitchen with dishwasher,lounge with open fire. Separate dining room. Ground floor WC & washbasin. First floor has large double bedroom with TV, twin bedroom and bathroom/WC with shower over bath. BEECH (sleeps 5+1 )Converted from carriage house and stables. Small private courtyard garden with picnic table. Entrance to hall, twin bedroom, bathroom with over bath shower & WC, . Steps down to dining area & fitted kitchen with dishwasher. Archway leading through to lounge with log stove and large picture window (formerly barn doors), TV with freeview. 1st floor has a double-bedroom & one large single room with a Z bed if required. Separate WC. HOLLY (sleeps 6) Spacious 3 bedroom cottage enjoying a peaceful location overlooking the gardens. The ground floor comprises: entrance hall/ cloakroom with adjoining shower room/W.C. Leading on to a large lounge with open fire. Fitted kitchen/dining room with dishwasher. 1st floor comprises bathroom with WC and shower over bath, a double bedroom & 2 twin bedrooms.

Specialities

All visitors to Cliff House Country Cottages are greeted on arrival by the owners Ian and Jo Hardie who live in Cliff House itself and who also run Hardies Patisserie and Tea Rooms based in Scarborough. They are treated to a freshly baked cake or pastry from the Patisserie and are presented with a voucher for a free cup of tea or coffee for the Tea Rooms.
