From the moment you arrive at this very special family run small country house hotel you cannot help to appreciate the warmth, comfort and hospitality offered by your hosts Barry and Lyn Truman. Built in 1892 and formally named Primrose Villa, this fine example of a Victorian house was purchased in 1895 by the renowned surgeon Dr. Thomas H. English MRCS, LRCP, LSE (1865-1937) who renamed it Netherby. Guests are free to wander around the garden and enjoy the stunning views or play a game of croquet on the lawn. Enjoy a quiet drink in the attractive lounge or relax in peace and comfort in the conservatory.

Nertherby House is located by the sea, the moors and the National Park. Other nearby attractions included Whitby Abbey, the Captain Cook Museum, Goathland 'Heartbeat Country' & Runswick Bay. Further a field there is many more interesting places to visit such as Ravenscar, Robin Hood's bay, Scarborough, Castle Howard & Historic York.
