Our beautiful Georgian property overlooks the Calder Valley with fantastic views from many rooms of the house. Within easy reach of Todmorden town centre and nearby Hebden Bridge, the farmhouse is a great base for exploring the region or as a venue for special occasions for families and groups of considerate adult friends and couples. We also welcome family pets with dogs and cats both catered for.
Upon entering our spacious farmhouse holiday cottage you are greeted by a very large farmhouse kitchen, decorated in a contemporary country style with modern fitted units and traditional features such as an Aga cooker, stone floors and a Belfast sink. These are complimented by modern self catering facilities such as an electric cooker and microwave. A high-ceilinged lounge is directly accessed from the kitchen and boasts large sash windows, two three-seat sofas and a rocking chair, and a large fireplace with wood/coal burning fire. Entertainment is provided by a television with Freeview channels. A colourful dining room features a six-seat dining table and more comfortable seating. Also on the ground floor is a utility room with a washing machine and a freezer. There are five bedrooms at Rodwell Head Farm; a single bedroom, bunk room and three doubles. We can supply a number of chair-beds, in double or single, which can be added to any room for additional sleeping accommodation. All guests are served by three bathroom/WC facilities; a shower room on the ground floor and a full bathroom and seperate dedicated WC on the first floor.
The market town of Todmorden and neighbouring Hebden Bridge both offer a wealth of amenities that guests can enjoy, from a superb variety of places to eat and drink, to a great selection of local independent and well known shops, as well as cultural, educational and fun things to see and do. The South Pennines area is perfect for fans of outdoor activities, from walking on an abundance of footpaths and trails such as the Pennine Way, to mountain biking, horse riding, golf and even watersports at Hollingworth Lake, just ten miles from the farm.
Rodwell Head Farm in Todmorden is a non-smoking property that can comfortably accommodate large numbers of guests. We provide sleeping accommodation and facilities for between six and fourteen guests with ample space inside and out. To the rear of the farmhouse is a walled garden with lawn and outdoor furniture, it is ideal for a family picnic or as a safe place for kids and pets to play (there's a child's swing and slide). We provide fresh clean bedding and towels, and can supply a cot as well as the several chair beds. The house is kept warm throughout the year thanks to a gas central heating system, the open fire in the lounge (logs & coal can be bought locally) and the Aga in the kitchen (between September & April only). Two dogs and one cat are welcome to accompany their owners, though there is a small nightly fee per pet.
