Alby House is a fantastic self catering 5 bedroom property located just north of Whitby in Runswick Bay, considered the Jewel of the Yorkshire coast. Alby House sleeps up to 9 people in 5 rooms – ideal for a larger family or extended family, or groups of adults. Whether you are looking for relaxation or an action packed holiday. Alby House is an ideal location, situated in the upper village, just 80 yards from the Cleveland Way coastal path and its stunning cliff top scenery, and across from the road down to the beautiful sandy sweep of bay. Runswick is an unspoilt gem, ideal for traditional seaside holidays, pottering on the beach, or for the more active, surfing, sailing or cycling (but not at the same time!). Alby House has secure storage for surf or cycling gear.

As well as the peaceful, idyllic seclusion of Runswick, you are still close to all of the attractions in the area with plenty to see and do. Nearby is the historic fishing town of Whitby where there is plenty to keep you entertained and is famous for its connection to Bram Stokers character Count Dracula. You can visit Whitby Abbey which is regarded the inspiration behind the character. There is also the Captain Cook museum and many other seaside attractions and the town regularly holds popular festivals and activities , not to mention the town’s reputation for the best fish and chips. Other places you can visit include Goathland (aka Aidensfield in Heartbeat), North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Dalby Forest, Go Ape and Flamingoland. For more shops, bars and restaurants you can visit Scarborough which is a little further down the coast and there are plenty of nice local pubs in the surrounding villages.

There are 5 bedrooms in this property and it can sleep up to 9 people. The rooms comprise of 2 king-size double rooms, 1 regular double, 1 large twin and 1 single bedroom. The property is perfect for families and extended families. There is an airy south facing lounge with flat screen TV with free view. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with great facilities including fridge/freezer, ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, washing machine and dish washer. There is a separate dining room with a table that seats the full 9 people and has a radio and CD player in the room. The property has 2 well appointed bathrooms. One has a bath and one has an electric shower. Outside there is a lovely patio in the large enclosed garden with a barbecue, perfect for the summer months when the tide comes in, and there is a large wooden outhouse has games and toys including table football, ideal for the younger members of the family. Solid fuel fires in the sitting room and dining room (plus the central heating) ensure a cosy time in the winter months, and electric oil heaters are available to take the chill off in spring and autumn.
