The York Priory is a friendly, family-run guest house in an excellent location just 10 minutes walk from the historic city centre of York and all the attractions it has to offer. The Priory has real charm and character, retaining many of its Victorian original features. It is ideal for midweek breaks, providing the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The guest house facilities are extensive; fully licensed bar, spacious residents TV lounge, elegant breakfast room and beautiful gardens; all just perfect for relaxing! We have a large private car park for the use of guests where you can park your car for the duration of your stay at no extra cost.

As the guest house is just a few minutes walk from the city centre, you'll be ideally located to enjoy some of the many attractions that York is so famous for. Why not take a picturesque stroll into town alongside the river and visit the Jorvik Viking Centre, York Minster, National Railway Museum or Castle Museum? Or why not shop 'til you drop in the many unique boutiques around the Quarter and The Shambles? York has countless cafés, restaurants, pubs and bars, so whatever your tastes, you're bound to find something to enjoy! The University, Racecourse and the McArther Glen designer outlet are all also within one mile of the guest house.

The Priory truly is a home away from home. Perfect for midweek breaks, our spacious rooms are all well-equipped and tastefully decorated and we can cater for any sized group with rooms ranging from a cosy single room overlooking the gardens to a large 2 bedroomed adjoining family room sleeping up to 5 people. The four poster and superior double rooms both have king size beds with large modern bathrooms. All of our bedrooms are en-suite and have a colour flat screen TV, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board.

The Priory stands in beautiful secluded gardens featuring Gothic stonework arches and seating with tables where you can relax and enjoy a drink (there is also a covered smoking area). We pride ourselves on the quality of our breakfasts and use local produce where possible. We offer a complimentary cold buffet, fresh tea/coffee, hot toast with home made marmalade/ preserves, followed by your choice of hot cooked options including our Full English, poached eggs on toast and kippers with fresh lemon wedges.
