The cottage also boasts its own enclosed garden which is ideal for when the climate improves in spring and summer months. The property welcomes families and is also ideally suited to guests keen to take advantage of the excellent walking, hiking and cycling trails and paths that are abundant in the area.

The cottage lies in the village of Redmire on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is situated just five miles from the popular market town of Leyburn, and four miles from the village of Wensley, from which the name of Wensleydale originates. Redmire has a family-friendly Yorkshire Dales pub offering fresh homecooked meals and there is a nice village shop and post office where you can stock up on provisions. It is also the terminus of the Wensleydale Heritage Railway line, which offers tourist rides throughout the dales. The cottage is a mile from the historic Bolton Castle, a Grade I listed building and Scheduled Ancient Monument that is open to the public with regular events and activities, and has been used several times as a location for film & television productions.
