In 2006 the Postgate Inn in Egton Bridge, North York Moors, was winner of the Punch Tavern North Regional Best Food Award. The inn continues to hold a position in the Alastair Sawday’s Special Places in the Pubs and Inns Category into 2010. We are also registered in the Good Food Guide 2009/10 and many locals tell us we are the best in the area! We pride ourselves on the warm and sociable atmosphere, and welcome both locals and tourists alike. Diners come from all over Yorkshire and beyond to enjoy our hospitality, and to sample the excellent food which includes the best traditional Yorkshire and time honoured British recipes with a hint of modern European influences. Perfect for Yorkshire romantic retreats, the inn offers five, fully refurbished, luxury rooms, an intimate candlelit restaurant and an atmospheric, lively bar. Choose from five pleasantly appointed rooms, all recently renovated and decorated and fully equipped with digi-box, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Three of the rooms are en suite, whilst the other two share a bathroom. Off-peak and dinner bed and breakfast terms are available and room types include family size to standard rooms with shared facilities.

Here are a couple of samples from our extensive menu: • Escallope of beef fillet baked wrapped in bacon, glazed with stilton cheese served on a Madeira and mushroom sauce with fresh vegetables and potatoes. • Supreme of chicken baked in garlic butter served on a croute of chicken liver pate with orange piquant sauce. • Halibut fillet cooked in lime butter served on a tomato and tarragon mash veiled with brandy and crayfish butter cream sauce.
