Each cottage is warm, comfortable and clean, and boasts lots of individual character, making them ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break in this fascinating area of North Yorkshire. Unwind and enjoy the fantastic green views and memorable sunsets. The farm is home to a beautiful garden which has been open for two decades under the National Gardens Scheme and offers an intriguing and colourful display of plantlife.
Sunset Cottages are in an ideal location and form the perfect base from which to explore York, Castle Howard (featured in Brideshead Revisited), the North York Moors (Heartbeat Country), the Yorkshire Dales, Thirsk and the James Herriot Museum, and the coast. The Information Room at the accommodation is packed with books, maps, leaflets and ideas for days out. Sunset Cottages comprise of six cottages: Gilling Gap (sleeps 4+1), Honeysuckle (sleeps 4), Carters (sleeps 4), Valerian (sleeps 2), Phlomis (sleeps 6) and Harvest End (sleeps 3).
Sunset Cottages have been artistically converted from a part of the old traditional farm buildings. Standing in an elevated position with fine views across the fields, each cottage boasts beautifully dressed stone arches, pitch pine beams and the red pantile roofs typical of North Yorkshire. All the practicalities of comfortable living are attended to here. Full size cookers, fridges, baths and beds, matching linen, comfortable seating, solid wood dining tables and chairs, lots of lamps, ample cupboard space with china, cutlery and kitchen utensils, plus a microwave in each cottage make this accommodation the ideal home from home.
Beds are made up for your arrival with duvets on doubles and singles. Colour television, full oil central heating and plenty of hot water are all included in the price.
