Beck Cottage is a beautiful 300 year old stone cottage set in the picturesque village of Hovingham, between the market towns of Malton and Helmsley in North Yorkshire. The village is a truly peaceful setting for any Yorkshire holiday and has a wonderful beck (stream) and a beautiful village green which is laden with daffodils in the springtime. The village is well served by a welcoming village pub - The Maltshovel, a hotel - The Worseley Arms with bar and restaurant, The Village Store, supplying groceries, newspapers, and greetings cards etc., The Hovingham Bakery and Spa Tea Rooms.

Hovingham is located in the Howardian Hills an area of outstanding natural beauty, with many wonderful walks. Also we are in an area of many attractions such as Castle Howard (stately home), Eden Camp (world War II Museum), Riveaulx Abbey (one of the many remains of Henry VIII's disolution of the Monastries), Flamingoland (Theme Park), The North York Moors National Park, North York Moors Steam Railway, the historic cities of York, Whitby, Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and Filey.
