Beautiful walks are direct from the cottage door via a footpath leading out to stunning open countryside and the pretty Pocklington Canal. The great historic Yorkshire city of York is a mere 12 miles to the west of the cottage and offers a host of premier museums, galleries and heritage sites including the great Gothic York Minster. Relax on the beautiful nearby beaches of the Yorkshire coast around Bridlington and Filey or take a tour of the magnificent stately home estate of Castle Howard. Also featuring in the local area are pretty gardens, theme parks, heritage World War II camp - Eden Camp, and outdoor activities including golf and fishing.
