South Haven Cottage in Whitby is an excellent holiday cottage close to both the cobbled streets of the town centre and the lovely, sandy beach. Our spacious cottage is a great place for families, groups and couples sharing, with facilities and rooms to suit all. The property sleeps a maximum of nine guests in three bedrooms with additional sleeping space in the shape of a double sofa bed. Whitby is an ancient town on the North Sea coast of Yorkshire. In existence since at least the 7th Century (though not known as Whitby until the 11th Century), Whitby grew into an important centre for shipbuilding, whaling, and the trade of alum and jet. Today Whitby is a popular tourist destination with the harbour now being home to pleasure craft and fishing vessels, who's catch often ends up at one of the pubs, restaurants and fish and chip shops that are abundant throughout the town centre. There is plenty to see and do in the town with a delightful long, sandy beach offering a great place to surf, wind surf, and sail as well as more traditional seaside activities such as dog walking, sunbathing and sandcastle building. The town has several museums and there is a ruined 13th Century Benedictine Abbey with an imaginative and award-winning visitor centre.

Upon entering South Haven Cottage you will find a spacious sitting room with leather seating (including a sofa bed), a large fireplace and home entertainment including a television with Freesat channels, a DVD player and a CD/Radio. The kitchen is again very roomy with plenty of space to do some laundry, cook up a group meal and enjoy said meal on a huge dining table with 10 seats. The kitchen leads to a conservatory with more comfortable seating and access to the garden. On the next floor up there are double and twin bedrooms; the double with an ensuite shower room and the twin served by a separate family bathroom. Onto the second floor now and there is another double bed, this time joined by a single bed, and another bathroom with shower cubicle.

South Haven Cottage is located within a quiet cul-de-sac and has parking available for several cars. The property is warm year-round thanks to gas central heating. We provide a barbecue and outdoor furniture to allow you to sit in the pretty patio garden and enjoy a drink or a meal. The cottage comes pre-equipped with fresh, clean bedding free of charge whilst towels can be supplied for a weekly fee of £10 per person.
