East Paradise Cottage in Low Row is a spacious and comfortably appointed self catering holiday home in Swaledale, the valley of the River Swale in the northern half of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Sleeping a total of ten people, plus an baby/toddler, our five bedroom cottage was formerly three properties that have been joined and renovated to provide relaxing and homely accommodation that is ideal for family holidays or for sharing couples and groups of responsible adult friends such as walking parties.
Low Row is a small rural village around three miles west of Reeth, a more substantial village and the principal settlement of Swaledale. One of the most northern 'Dales' in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Swaledale is the dale of the River Swale that runs from Birkdale Beck to beyond Myton On Swale to the River Ure. It is a great place for walking and cycling with the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way following the valley along with parts of the famous Coast to Coast Walk. Nearby family-friendly visitor attractions include the ruins of Richmond Castle, one of the greatest Norman fortresses in Britain, and The Forbidden Corner, half an hour's drive away in Coverham, with its unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and follies to explore.
East Paradise Cottage has an unusual layout, you enter the property on the first floor via a series of steps. The first floor comprises of a simple yet elegant dining room with an eight-seat dining table, which leads through to the well-equipped kitchen with full compliment of appliances including a microwave and a fridge freezer, which in turn leads out onto the delightful roof terrace offering magnificent views and an alternative space to enjoy a meal or drink. Moving downstairs to the ground floor there is a generously sized lounge with plush sofas and armchairs and a TV with VHS player. Also on the ground floor is a twin bedroom, and two doubles all served by a separate bathroom with bath and shower overhead. Moving finally to the lower ground floor, there are two more bedrooms, both twins, that overlook the garden.
The excellent self catering and dining facilities at East Paradise Cottage are complemented by a lovely pub just a few hundred yards away. The cottage has a private garden which is a nice place for kids to play, though there is a stream so toddlers should be supervised at all times. Parking at the property is ample for the maximum number of guests. A cot and highchair can be provided for guests travelling with babies.
