Set in glorious Rosedale with stunning views and superb local walking, guests can expect luxurious cosy rooms and plenty of open space. Appledore is set in glorious walking country. There are plenty of walks from the house of varying difficulty and many others in Rosedale and neighbouring dales or moorland. There are wonderful streams and rivers and delightful villages with great pubs and restaurants, so guests have easy access to many local amenities. The beautiful North Yorkshire coast is only about half an hour away. Appledore Cottage has recently been completely refurbished and combines English cottage charm with luxury and convenience and has a four star rating from the English Tourist Board. The cottage is ideal for a single family or for two families sharing.
The cottage is carefully and attractively appointed. On the Ground Floor there is a large light kitchen. The working end has all modern appliances including a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. In the middle of the room is a large round light oak dining table and at the other end a comfortable sitting area with a wood burning stove, television, video and hi-fi system. Relax in the lovely sitting room with an open fire, comfortable chairs, and a television. Under floor heating makes the slate tiles feel wonderful under your feet. The garage is well stocked with wood and coal which you are welcome to use. All the rooms have easy access to the garden and are light and airy by day but cosy and snug in the evening.
Next to the hallway, where coats and boots can be stored, there is a twin bedded room and a separate shower room with a large shower cubicle (and a good powerful shower), toilet and basin. On the first floor there are three bedrooms all with spectacular views over the surrounding hills. Two bedrooms have double beds and one bedroom has twin beds which, although decorated partly with children in mind, is perfectly suitable for adults. All the beds in the house are high quality. There is a very large bath in the attractive bathroom. The first floor is heated via conventional radiators. Outside the property offers a large enclosed garden. There is plenty of grass for games and lots of space for sitting and eating out with good outside lighting. The views from the garden are glorious and an idyllic stream nearby can be heard from the garden, making this a most relaxing spot!
Local amenities are excellent. There is a good swimming pool in nearby Pickering, plenty of horse riding locally and Flamingoland theme park is reached in about half and hour. There are good shops in both Pickering and Kirkbymoorsde.
