Centrally located in a popular and attractive village in the North York Moors National Park with large village green, pond, children's play area and the White Swan Inn. Two of our cottages - 'Mallard' & 'Swift' - have been awarded Access Level 'M3 - Assisted' under the National Accessible Scheme applicable to Users of wheelchairs having a holiday in self-catering holiday accommodation. 'Owl', whilst not being suitable for wheelchair Users, is accessible to those with mobility impairment; it has no internal stairs and is rated Access Level 'M1' under the independent Scheme referred to above.

The beautiful and historic North Yorkshire Moors and coast is the perfect place to escape to and relax. Breathe in the fresh, crisp and clean air and marvel at the outstanding beauty that surrounds you. The local area offers terrific access to the countryside and is perfect for walking, cycling, horse riding, or simply having a picnic. Then there are so many things to do and places to see - you can't do it all in a fortnight! We can't list everything here - obviously - but historical places of interest include Danby Castle, Helmsley Castle, Pickering Castle, and Rieveaulx Abbey whilst a 'must' for visitors of all ages is the North York Moors Steam Railway, which winds its way north from Pickering to Grosmont via Goathland (the 'Aidensfield' of Television's 'Heartbeat' series). In Scarborough you might like to go to the Sealife Centre or spend an evening at the Stephen Joseph Theatre where Alan Ayckbourn is the Artistic Director. Close to Malton you can visit Castle Howard (of 'Brideshead Revisited' fame), Eden Camp Modern History Museum, or spend the day at Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo. Why not visit the pretty fishing town of Whitby and see its famous Abbey or drop in on the Captain Cook Memorial Museum? Finally, the City of York - where you might like to visit the National Railway Museum, the Jorvic Viking Centre or the Cathedral - is just 30 miles away. There's such variety - something for everyone of all ages!
