Property Information

Mrs Anderson's Cottages consist of Sunset Cottage in Newton upon Rawcliffe, Pickering & Fleur De Lys in Hemsley, York. Sunset Cottage is surrounded by fields, yet close to the road so one has easy access to the fantastic scenery, villages and coasts nearby. Or leave the car on the drive and take advantage of the numerous circuitous short- and long-distance walks and bridleways to truly appreciate the dramatic landscape of the glaciated valley of Newtondale and its surrounding Tabular hills. One can take advantage of way-marked walks and even catch the historic North Yorkshire Moors train back to Levisham Station from Goathland (or "Heartbeat" as it is known in the famous TV series), Newtondale Halt or Pickering. Fleur De Lys is a recently refurbished two bedroom Cottage in the old part of Helmsley close to all the amenities, Fleur de Lys was awarded the Prince of Wales Feathers for its pottery and shop in the early C20th. A two-car car port offers security for your vehicles and beyond this the enclosed garden gives lots of privacy with garden furniture and a BBQ to hand. Downstairs the open-plan design is light and spacious, enabling food preparation whilst talking to your friends in the labour-saving kitchen (dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, extractor fan, gas hob and electric oven). A laundry service is available by the helpful owner who lives next door and has a telephone for emergencies. The dining table is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen area and will fold down when not in use. A gas fire in the lounge is handy if the evenings turn chilly and you wish to supplement the self-operated gas central heating for no extra charge. Very comfortable sofas, beamed ceilings, window seats and wall lights feature with the open wooden stairs (not ideal for children).

The spacious Lounge benefits from the luxury of a traditional log fire for cosy evenings, with TV, dvd, video, hi-fi and upmarket furniture and furnishings to complete the picture. The luxury Bathroom has an electric shower over the bath, a constant supply of piping hot water and grab rails to assist the disabled. Every conceivable luxury time-saving appliance has been discreetly installed in the well-planned, hygienic Kitchen-Diner. Microwave oven, dishwasher, washer-dryer (both with detergents), spacious fridge-freezer, extractor fan and automatic built-in ovens. French doors on to the patio access a fantastic southerly view as you dine in a draught-free, ambient environment. The enclosed garden and private shed offer Garden Furniture, Barbeque, Bike Store and Off-Road Parking for two vehicles.
