The two cottages, the Tack Room and the Old Coach House, were built in 1734 from local stone as the stable block to the main house, and have been sympathetically converted to retain their original charm. The cottages are in a courtyard setting and separated from the on site guest house by a car parking area and the garden. The Tack Room sleeps 2, making it ideal for romantic breaks, and the Old Coach House sleeps 4 and is perfect for families.
Bramwood cottages make the perfect holiday base for touring the North York Moors, and the Yorkshire coast from Scarborough northwards to Whitby, as well as having easy access to York and the surrounding towns and villages. The cottages are conveniently situated close to Pickering town centre, within walking distance of the Beck Isle Museum, the North York Moors Railway and Pickering Castle, as well as all the town's restaurants, shops and bars. Discounted entry to Pickering Castle and all other English Heritage properties in Yorkshire is available. We have secure cycle storage and can advise on the best local cycle rides and walks. There is full broadband wireless internet access in both cottages.
The Tack Room is a cosy little cottage which has one double bedroom, making it perfect for couples on a romantic getaway. It has a generously proportioned studio bedroom with king size bed and a fully equipped kitchen with open fire and exposed stonework to one wall. The Coach House is a well proportioned two bedroom cottage sleeping 4, making it suitable for a family of four or two couples. It has a stylish lounge, fully equipped kitchen, spacious main bedroom and cosy twin bedroom with original oak beams.
Bramwood Cottages are sympathetically converted grade II listed 18th century stone buildings, with period features including oak beams and an open log fire in the Tack Room. Both cottages benefit from excellent modern facilities, including free Wi-Fi internet access. Guests can take advantage of the adjacent guest house by enjoying breakfast at a small charge.
