Property Information

A converted barn in a lovely rural position between Leeds and Harrogate, The Old Barn Cottage in Huby provides self-catering accommodation for five. It's a beautifully furnished, homely property with solid flooring throughout, and it features full floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views from the lounge. Perfect for families, and ideal for visits to the Roundhay Park Tropical World, the Ilkley Toy Museum and other fantastic family attractions, our cottage is a guilt-free eco-friendly holiday home with solar panels and a ground-source heat pump.

The Old Barn Cottage features a cosy lounge with a TV, a DVD player, an iPod dock and a log-burning stove. We've supplied a selection of books, games and DVDs for you to enjoy, and the room has a window seat so you can enjoy the best of the views. The property has a beamed dining room and a kitchen containing a fridge freezer, laundry facilities, a microwave and a cooker amongst other essentials. There's a cloakroom WC on the ground floor, and the main bathroom has an over-bath shower. The cottage has two king-sized bedrooms, one of which has a zip-and-link bed, and a child's bedroom with a cabin bed.

Additional Information

We've created many of the furnishings here at The Old Barn using reclaimed and locally sourced materials, including the zip-and-link bed made from original barn joists and the cabin bed from reclaimed wood. Where possible, we've also used British appliances and fittings. Doors are again made from reclaimed wood, and finished in beeswax from our own bees. Water is heated by solar panels, and we've included underfloor heating from the ground-source heat pump. A wireless internet connection is included, we can provide a cot and highchair for a baby or toddler and we offer off-road space for two cars on site. You'll have access to four acres of land including a private patio garden, and we provide a welcome pack to help you settle in. We're also happy for you to tour the grounds and to meet our hens, ducks and sheep, and watch our bees at work. We welcome your own pets at a fee of £20 per dog, and you can call to book a stay today.
