Intake Cottage is a traditional cosy cottage of great character with beamed ceiling, original flagged stone floors and an 18th century, stone and cast iron open fire in the sitting/ dining room. We pride ourselves in providing a fresh, clean environment for our guests so we do not allow pets or smoking. 3 star Tourist Board rated. Instant, economical heating with electric radiators for added benefit.

Sympathetically furnished throughout with antique furniture and tasteful, comfortable soft furnishings, including a television, DVD, video, CD player and radio. The cottage has a newly fitted kitchen with Belfast sink, electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher, but retains it's character with original stone shelves and flooring. BOOKING NOTE: week long bookings only from June to end of October. Min 3 day short breaks out of season.

Rooms Description

Four people can be accommodated in the two upstairs bedrooms, but we cannot cater for children under 5. The main bedroom has a wonderful panoramic view across the dale and features a hand-painted double bed, wardrobe and dressing table. The bathroom, with a bath and shower, shaver point and heated towel rail, is just off the main bedroom. The second bedroom, with twin 2'6'' single beds, is approached through the main bedroom also has a wardrobe and dressing table. All bedding is provided, with electric blankets available for the cooler months.

The Cottage has full electricity, which runs on a coin-operated meter; the first ?5 of which is included in the rent. All coal also included. At the front of the cottage a private raised garden, which is south facing, overlooks the River Swale. A patio terrace with garden furniture is ideal for barbeques and picnics. An adjoining converted barn is sometimes available
