For two generations, since 1982, the Nichols family have been modelling Moorside cats in the beautiful Wensleydale village of West Burton. Shirley and Sarah have both studied sculpture, and have many years of professional training between them. They create life-like, tactile sculptures, not abstractions and spend weeks on each cat, perfecting each hair, even making sure the eyes are sparkling with life. The village workshop is open Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm, with wheelchair access and a selection of cat creations on show.
