Whitby self-catering cottage providing accommodation suitable for families, with modern facilities and furnishings. Pet-friendly. Lovely river views. Sleeps 6.
16 Riverside View is a three bedroomed holiday cottage on an exclusive development of holiday homes, close to Whitby, in a peaceful setting with commanding views over the river Esk. The cottage also has distant views of the railway line which has links to the North York Moors Railway, running from Pickering to Grosmont via Goathland. Enthusiasts may enjoy the steam trains, which are a regular feature of the line. The development nestles at the highest point of the Grade II listed Viaduct, which now provides a cycle or walking amenity with dramatic views to Whitby town and harbour.
The cottage is well appointed and we have strived to offer every comfort and convenience for families or couples wanting to holiday in this thoughtfully presented villa. The sitting room has comfortable seating and a TV with DVD player. The kitchen has Smeg cooker, fridge freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and a dining table which seats six. Outside there is a front patio and a rear deck for outdoor relaxation. Upstairs boasts two double bedrooms and one twin bedded room. The cottage comfortably sleeps six adults. The upstairs bathroom has pristine white ceramic ware with bath and shower over. The front bedroom has a TV with built in DVD player, a double wardrobe and a small balcony to catch the last evening rays and enjoy the view across the Esk and east towards Whitby. Both peaceful rear bedrooms, a double and twin bedded room, overlook the rear deck.
Whitby, with its gothic charm and historic appeal is a short walk away. In a westerly direction, alongside the River Esk are Ruswarp and Sleights, delightful villages with award winning butchers and other appealing shops. The tariff includes bedding, towels and all gas and electricity. A welcome pack provides tea, coffee and a few extras to make you feel at home in this lovely corner of Yorkshire. We can provide a travel cot and high chair on request, and we have on-site parking facilities. Well behaved pets may be considered, but if you wish to bring your pet, please contact us before booking your stay.
We offer short breaks from October to May, available midweek or weekend. Contact us for details of 'couples' discounts.
