It lies within the boundary of the North York Moors National Park and enjoys fine views of the Howardian Hills to the south. The local village has a range of amenities including a village shop/post office, two excellent pubs and a fish and chip shop. The two friendly pubs serve meals and bar snacks. The larger market towns of Helmsley and Thirsk can be found nearby whilst the historic city of York is just twenty miles away.

The cottage was converted from an old barn and is built from local stone with a red pantile roof. The ground floor features a beamed living area with exposed stone walls, newly fitted kitchen with French doors to the patio area and a bathroom with shower over bath. A hall and stairway lead to one double and one twin bedroom, sleeping four people in total. Facilities within include a TV/DVD/CD player, cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, Internet connection and a cosy wood burning stove. Washing and drying are available and there is ample parking.
