On the edge of the North York Moors, Carlton Lodge offers award-winning B&B accommodation in Helmsley, near the stunning coastal resort of Whitby and close to Scarborough and the spectacular Robin Hood's Bay. A wealth of history and heritage surround the Carlton Lodge and Helmsley, which is rapidly establishing a reputation as a 'foodie hotspot' with a number of specialist food shops and quality eateries. A library of walks and routes to stroll or ramble on are available when you stay and our knowledge of all things local is unsurpassed.
Our cosy B&B comprises of eight comfortable en suite rooms, all individually furnished including a TV, DVD player, CD player, clock and tea and coffee tray. Two of our bedrooms are on the ground floor, and six are on the first floor. Zip-and-link beds allow us to configure rooms as doubles or twins to suit your requirements. Our breakfast ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible, and we serve breakfast in our bright and cheerful dining room. Options include fresh juices, hot drinks, cereals, our traditional Yorkshire breakfast, Whitby kippers or various items on toast, including eggs and preserves.

Whenever possible, and without impinging on customer care, we operate a 'green' B&B. We have private parking to the rear of the Carlton Lodge, and we do welcome cyclists and walkers. We also welcome pets by arrangement, though we ask that they stay out of public rooms. Please book your stay online, or call for more information.

Advice on chocolates, flowers and pampering for the ladies can be provided, we can tell you where you can enjoy a decent pint and we can even advise you on how to get dinner at our local Michelin Starred restaurant at short notice. A little local knowledge can be invaluable - please do ask for advice if you wish.
