The White Horse is a traditional style public house which lies at the very heart of York. The White Horse has been trading in York since 1770, and has recently been taken over by Dan Murphy and Racheal Chadwick in January 2007. We pride ourselves on a fine and growing reputation for providing excellant service, good beer, fine wines, all presented in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, LCD TV's with freeview, tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryer and ironing facilities available on request.

The white horse is one of the few city centre pubs with a pool table. All major sports are shown on the big screen. The white horse has a good reputation for sport with full sky sports package and a very good atmosphere to watch your favourite sports in. The White Horse is located right in the centre of York so is perfect for shopping trips. York is famous for its ghost walks. It was the first city in the country to set up this macabre form of entertainment and, having claimed the title of 'Most Haunted City in Europe,' it certainly has the phantoms to support the trade. Available all year round, though especially popular in the Summer, these guided evening tours take in many and varied of the haunted places of the city where there is an epidemic of apparently true ghostly and ghoulish tales.

All of the rooms have ensuite facilities with shower and bath, colour television, hair dryer, tea / coffee and ironing facilities. There are no single rooms, but if the accommodation is not booked, rooms can be let to individuals for the per person rate. All prices include a full (in fact very full!) English breakfast
