Twin bedded roomAs recommended by Helen Pickles and featured in the Daily Telegraph travel section. As you drive over the millrace and into the paddock, you will enter a little haven of peace. Leave the pressures of your everyday life behind, and enjoy a refreshing stay in the delightful surroundings of The Cornmill, which is a perfect base for exploring this beautiful region. You can curl up in the guest lounge with a good book and glass of wine, relax in our garden, or walk through our paddocks to the river; do a spot of fishing, or even go for a paddle if you wish.
Breakfast in the Mill will be a highlight of your stay. The dining room walls are soft yellow stone, the floor is paved with York flags, with glass viewing panel over the millrace running under the dining room. Your farmhouse English breakfast will be cooked to order while you choose from a selection of cereals, fruits and juices from the buffet - mind your head on the low beams!
With only five luxuriously appointed bedrooms - one of which has a fourposter bed and one its own lounge area, and all with en suite bathroom - you are assured of a tranquil stay in total comfort. Each room has a tea and coffee tray, colour TV and hairdryer. All bedrooms have goose and duck down pillows and duvets (we can provide non-allegy pillows and duvets or sheets and blankets if you prefer) plus fluffy bath sheets and hand towels. There is a log burning stove in the guest lounge and a wealth of books and magazines, plus an honesty bar.
By arrangement The Cornmill offers dinner by candlelight, for groups of 4 and over, featuring local produce, home grown vegetables and eggs from The Cornmill flock. Fancy a spot of fishing? There are brown trout in the River Dove, just waiting to be hooked. There's plenty to do for the energetic - besides walking on the North York Moors or visiting the coast or the wealth of abbeys, castles and stately homes in the area, your hosts can arrange golf, horse-riding, or other activities. Secure storage available for cycles, on request.
