The AA four diamond awarded Rockhaven Bed and Breakfast is a Victorian country house set in two acres of grounds in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, between Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay. There are sea views across the adjacent fields and guests are encouraged to make the most of the gardens and location in our wonderful summer house. The Cleveland Way can be found just ten minutes away and there are ample opportunities locally for cycling in the nearby Dalby Forest and along the disused railway line.
The historic harbour town of Whitby, famous for its abbey and links with Captain Cook, can be found 14 miles away. Other attractions within easy reach include Scarborough, which is ten minutes away by car or can be reached by the bus which stops at our gate. Alternatively, you could head a little inland and visit the picturesque village of Goathland, perhaps better known as 'Aidensfield' from the popular TV series Heartbeat. Visitors both young and old are sure to enjoy a trip on the North Yorkshire Steam Railway, which featured more recently in the Harry Potter films.
Rockhaven Bed and Breakfast has three delightful en-suite rooms, all tastefully furnished with co-ordinating soft furnishings, starched bed linen, comfortable beds and pure Egyptian cotton towels. There is a comfortable lounge / diner for guests, which is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine and a good book (library available) by the roaring log fire in winter. A three bedroom self catering coach house is also available, please enquire.
Cycle hire is available and we have lockable bike storage. Three course evening meals are available, as are soup and sandwiches. Our delicious meals are created using locally sourced seasonal produce and homegrown ingredients wherever possible. Tea and homemade scones are made available in the afternoons with our compliments and picnics are available for your days out.
