Property Information

The Duke of Wellington is an extremely attractive 18th Century inn offering high quality guest accommodation overlooking the village green in Danby, at the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The inn gained its name from its past as a local recruiting post for regiments during the Napoleonic War and a cast iron plaque of its namesake hangs above the fireplace in the bar. The inn is well placed for touring the heritage coast towns of Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby as well as the delights of the North Yorkshire Moors. The picturesque villages of Hutton-le-Hole, Helmsley and Goathland are all easily accessible from here.

Located in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors, guests can use The Duke of Wellington as a base to explore the stunning scenery that surrounds the Inn. Guests can walk the many trails that cut through the Moors, or visit the many quaint villages and towns boasting a variety of classic pubs and restaurants. The inn enjoys a fine reputation for good quality home made traditional British food, the ingredients for which are all purchased locally. We offer a a selection of cask conditioned ales in the bar area, including a regularly changed local guest beer. If ale is not your tipple then why not try a glass of wine from our interesting selection or a malt whisky from our extensive collection.

Additional Information

The Duke of Wellington has nine en-suite, individually decorated bedrooms. All are centrally heated and equipped with beverage facilities, and LCD flat screen television. A small sitting room on the first floor is reserved exclusively for the use of guests.
