Georgian grade 2 listed. Built 1784 with 18th Century beams and 21st Century comfort. Pretty village
Our guests often remark on the quality of our beds; Some say the most important part of the holiday.
Sorry no TV's in the bedrooms but if required there's one hidden in the sitting room.
Six for breakfast? but if your prefer to eat alone, we have a table for you in the conservatory.Orchard House, in a conservation village on the southern edge of the North York Moors, is ideally situated for a trip to the historic city of York, the Heritage coast and the stately houses of Castle Howard and Duncombe Park. We have been welcoming guests to Orchard House for 17 years. We offer light and airy spacious rooms with full size en suite bathrooms. Our self-catering Stables Cottage is situated in the courtyard to the rear of the house and is let by the week giving TWO people an ideal country base from which to explore the region. Prices £135 to £290 per week. The year before last the English Tourist Council gave the B&B a silver award to go with its 4 diamonds and Stables Cottage in the courtyard to the rear, gained a 4 star category. I think it is fair to say we offer a budget price but give a premium service with great value for money and we will continue our low prices whilst giving quality service.
Breakfast is a relaxed experience with fresh fruit and juices, organic and regular cereals, breads and preserves. Eggs are laid daily by the family hens and complement an English breakfast cooked to perfection in the AGA. Our homegrown produce is used wherever possible in the kitchen. There is also an excellent pub-restaurant in the village. We assure guests of a warm welcome and take pride in the reputation we have built up since 1991, especially for our breakfasts and high quality accommodation.
Orchard house has delightful reception rooms with an open fire in the dining room and a log burning stove in the sitting room. The 2 good sized comfortable bedrooms, one with twin beds, have en-suite bathrooms and each room has two soft chairs, books and magazines, tea and coffee making facilities, a hair-dryer and an electric blanket. NB. Though we do not have a family room, a single camp-bed can be provided for a small child. STABLES COTTAGE: in the courtyard at the rear of Orchard House, sleeps TWO only, (one five foot double bed) and is a converted stable block. All rooms are on the ground floor and the cottage has a comfortable sitting/dining room with log burning stove. You pass through the galley kitchen to reach the good sized bedroom with a five foot double bed. There is an en suite bathroom with full size bath and shower attachment. French doors lead from the bedroom to the garden.
Our large garden leads down to a river which contains trout, grayling and chub. Rod licences are available locally. We can also recommend guests to the Kirkbymoorside golf club and there is a good riding school in Sinnington a mile away.
One price: £30 per person per night for 2 in double room.

From Pickering travel west on the A170. Turn left after 2 miles and follow country road for one mile and enter Marton. Look for red phone box on right. Orchard House is opposite, just drive through the gates at the side of the house and park in the courtyard.
