Our guest house is placed in the southern area of York and is a mid terraced Victorian property, which we have recently refurbished with tasteful décor that really brings out the best of the house. We have been presented with a number of different awards, including a 3 star grading and a breakfast award from enjoyEngland as well as a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor. You’ll be able to enjoy one of the best home cooked breakfasts in the city during your stay, which is served daily in our traditional dining room, complete with a feature fireplace, and we have a variety of meals for you to choose from, including vegetarian options. All are cooked with locally sourced ingredients, and we only ever use free range eggs.
York is a fantastic place to visit, with an abundance of exciting attractions that are suitable for the whole family. We are placed just a 10 minute walk from York city centre and York Racecourse, so you could easily spend a day at the races while you’re visiting. We’re also just a 5 minute walk from York’s majestic city walls, still standing from Roman times. York is packed with shops, including both designer and high street fashion stores, and there are also many restaurants that you can book tables in for an evening meal.
You can choose from our 5 attractive rooms when booking with us, and each of them is named after a flower – there’s Heather, Daisy, Rose, Primrose and Violet. Rose is our family room, with 1 double and 1 single bed in, and children will love our resident toy puppy, Spike. All of the other rooms are furnished with double beds, and you’ll also find a radio alarm clock, a well-stocked drinks tray and fresh flowers in your room upon arrival. We would be more than happy to provide you with wine glasses, a wine cooler and a selection of speciality teas, if you inform us in advance. Our bed and breakfast is fully connected with wireless internet throughout, offered free of charge to visitors that are bringing their own laptops. Families staying with us can request a cot, high chair, story books and children’s toys. Guests will have access to our information booklet, which details all of the things to do in and around York. We have various discounts and deals available – we allow children under the age of 4 to stay for free, and have lower rates for those aged 4-14. An extra pull out bed for a child can be provided for a small fee and, as we’re open throughout the year, you can book breaks between Christmas and New Year. We also have parking available.
