Orillia House Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast is quietly situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Stockton on the Forest, just three miles from the historic city of York. Orillia House has been described as 'a luxury hotel in miniature'. We offer bed and breakfast accommodation with an emphasis on quality, comfort and personal service. Stockton on the Forest is a beautiful Yorkshire village with a facinating history. It was originally a clearing in the Forest of Galtres, a forest that Henry VIII had cut down to use the wood to build a fleet of ships. Now Stockton on Forest is a quiet country village, complete with shops, a pub and a convenient frequent bus service to York.

Orillia House & Cottages

The house itself is over 300 years old and has been sympathetically restored, retaining many of its original features, including beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace and old panelled doors. All modern amenities are included, with central heating throughout and open access at all times for guests. There is good private parking within the grounds and guests can expect excellent breakfasts, taken in our elegant dining room which, for the enjoyment of all, we keep as a non-smoking area. Our restful lounge is the perfect place to sit and relax after a busy day's sightseeing. We keep to a selection of maps and guides of the area to help you plan your holiday.

Rooms Description

All bedrooms have a shower or bath en-suite, and are equipped with colour television and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. We have ground floor bedroom which is particularly suitable for elderly visitors or those who prefer to avoid climbing stairs. As you would expect in a house of this age, all our bedrooms are uniquely different, and all are attractively decorated and well furnished, each with its own individual character.

We're just 3 miles from historic York, and just a short ride away from superb attractions such as Castle Howard, Harewood House, The Yorkshire Dales The North York Moors, and Brimham Rocks. Guests also benefit from easy access to Yorkshire's Heritage Coast and the resorts of Scarborough and Whitby. Nearby York attractions include York Minster, the National Railway Museum, the Castle Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre.
