High Quality 4 star Yorkshire Bed and Breakfast and Holiday Cottage in stunning countryside location

Woodhouse Farm offers high quality B&B and self-catering holiday cottage accommodation to guests. Woodhouse is a warm and friendly family run working farm situated between the Yorkshire Wolds, the Vale of York and the Howardian Hills, and set in beautiful peaceful countryside with stunning views of the surrounding area. Enjoy traditional Bed and Breakfast in our 18th Century Listed farmhouse or try self-catering in our newly converted idyllic 'Apple Tree Cottage', also a listed building. Both our B&B and self-catering accommodation offer excellent standards of accommodation whilst retaining many original features, including oak beams and log fires. Both the cottage and B&B farmhouse make ideal bases for exploring North Yorkshire. We're conveniently close to York (only a 20 minutes drive away) and local tourist attractions, including Castle Howard, York, the East Coast, and the North Yorkshire Moors.

Our self-catering holiday cottage, Apple Tree Cottage, is a Grade II listed and is situated adjacent to Howsham Wood, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and part of the Howardian Hills. The cottage has recently been sympathetically converted and restored to a very high standard to provide extremely comfortable self-catering accommodation. All the stone, bricks, roof tiles and exposed beams and trusses used came from the original building itself to preserve the character of the cottage. The cottage has an open plan layout and the ceiling has original roof trusses and beams. The kitchen is fully fitted and has all modern conveniences, as well as a character reclaimed quarry tiled floor.

Rooms Description

The living/dining area of the cottage is fully carpeted and centrally heated and also has a small real flame electric stove to give the appearance of a real fire. The window seat looks out over rolling farmland to the south, and has stunning views. For guests entertainment there is a TV, video, DVD player, books and games to suit all ages. There are 2 bedrooms, a downstairs double, and a twin room upstairs, which is galleried over the living area, both of which have radio alarms and hairdryers. The bathroom is downstairs and has both bath and shower facilities. The sofa converts into a large double bed, giving comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people. Outside there is an enclosed patio area to the rear, with outdoor furniture, barbeque and outdoor drying facilities.

Breakfast is a speciality here at Woodhouse Farm, with only the best and freshest home grown or local food served. All of which are cooked to order in our farmhouse kitchen. We have a wide variety of choices available, and take great pride in having one of the best breakfasts in the Country (Nominated for AA Best Breakfast Award 2003/2004, and rated as 5 star quality by the AA. The Guests Lounge is relaxing and comfortable and offers colour TV, video, DVD, books and games for all ages. The separate dining room has a fridge for guests use, and is large and spacious. All rooms are en-suite, and consist of king sized, twin and family. All rooms are fully central heated and very well equipped, with radio alarms, digital safes, hair dryers, and full sized bunk beds in the family room).
