Property Information

Guests staying at Woodhouse Farm B&B can expect the highest standards of accommodation and service, reflective of our AA 4 star grading. The property is and 18th century listed building which is full of character and retains many original features, including oak beams and log fires. The guests' lounge is relaxing and comfortable and offers colour TV, video, DVD, books and games for all ages. The separate dining room has a fridge for guests use, and is large and spacious.

This working farm is situated between the Yorkshire Wolds, the Vale of York and the Howardian Hills, and set in beautiful peaceful countryside with stunning views of the surrounding area. We're conveniently close to York (only a 20 minutes drive away) and local tourist attractions, including Castle Howard, York, the East Coast, and the North Yorkshire Moors.

Additional Information

At the Woodhouse Farm we offer a range guest rooms including king sized, twin and family rooms. All rooms are en-suite, fully central heated and very well equipped, with radio alarms, digital safes, hair dryers, and full sized bunk beds in the family room). We can also offer a self-catering holiday cottage, Apple Tree Cottage, is a Grade II listed and is situated adjacent to Howsham Wood, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and part of the Howardian Hills. The cottage has recently been sympathetically converted and restored to a very high standard to provide extremely comfortable self-catering accommodation. All the stone, bricks, roof tiles and exposed beams and trusses used came from the original building itself to preserve the character of the cottage. The cottage has an open plan layout and the ceiling has original roof trusses and beams. The kitchen is fully fitted and has all modern conveniences, as well as a character reclaimed quarry tiled floor.

Specialities

Breakfast is a speciality here at Woodhouse Farm, with only the best and freshest home grown or local food served. All of which are cooked to order in our farmhouse kitchen. We have a wide variety of choices available, and take great pride in having one of the best breakfasts in the Country, nominated for AA Best Breakfast Award 2003/2004, and rated as 5 star quality by the AA.

Bed and Breakfast rooms availabile throughout the Summer Holidays. Apple Tree Cottage available for short breaks and longer stays from September 2011

Closed for Bed and Breakfast over Christmas and New Year and during lambing (Mid March to Mid April). Apple Tree Cottage open all year.
