Burythorpe House, a former gentleman's residence built around 1750, is family owned and managed and stands in a beautiful rural location with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. It has the great advantage of being in a pocket of England which is removed from mass tourism and free from crowds whilst being close to all the major tourist attractions which Ryedale has to offer. Here you can experience the real English countryside and hear the "silence" which is missing in modern day life. We believe that our clients desire peaceful rest within the precincts of our establishment. This means that our priority is to offer an environment of serenity and top class friendly service. The majority of our staff are long serving and we therefore feel that we can offer our guests, especially repeat guests, a real family atmosphere. They mostly live locally and have a good knowledge of the area so please feel free to ask for local information. They will all be happy to help.

We are a pet friendly bed and breakfast and well behaved pets are welcome in the Stable Courtyard Rooms although not in the main house. We do have our own pets including dogs and ponies which you may meet in the grounds from time to time. They are all very friendly and used to people. We are lucky enough to have various wildlife which visit us including foxes, squirrels, hedgehogs and badgers which cross the front lawn regularly. You may also hear the owls hooting at night - they can be very noisy but that is the only noise you will hear! We are a non smoking bed and breakfast accommodation. Rooms are ready by 2pm and checkout please by 11am.
