Food is at the heart of The Frenchgate. Our Georgian dining room is both relaxed and stylish, with an eclectic mix of traditional oak tables and chairs, set on original, fully restored, boards. Care is taken to source ingredients locally wherever possible and all our food is prepared to order. Start with a homemade soup, a delicate risotto or our own smoked salmon, then maybe a loin of Yorkshire lamb together with a confit of shoulder, a fillet of local beef cooked to perfection, fresh halibut or one of our delicious vegetarian options. Our bar and wine lists match the quality and value of our food. Following your relaxing dinner retire to one of our eight individual guestrooms, all en-suite with bath and powerful showers. You may find your room has a free standing Victorian bath, or an original fireplace with views down to the river or out over the private gardens.
