Originally built as a gentleman's townhouse, the 18th Century Kings Head Hotel occupies a perfect central location overlooking Richmond's lovely cobbled market square. The hotel enjoys views of the Norman castle, the Green Howards Regimental Museum and the unique church of Holy Trinity. The artist J.M.W. Turner stayed at the hotel whilst painting in the area, describing the Kings Head as "The finest in Richmondshire ". Richmond's streets and wynds hide many attractions including the imposing castle, perched above the River Swale and the nearby ruins of Easby Abbey.
The newly refurbished King's Restaurant has a contemporary feel and serves a modern British menu with some unexpected surprises. This welcoming room has views over the largest and most beautiful cobbled market square in Europe, the perfect setting for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. Our marvellous menu is accompanied by a highly commended wine list featuring wines from most of the world's wine producing countries. Our friendly bar is open daily and serves a fine selection of hand pull beers and lagers, with bar meals available from 9am to 9pm. We have thirty beautifully appointed en suite bedrooms, each individually decorated and furnished for your comfort. All guest rooms are complete with Tv with Freeview, hair dryer, shaver point, telephone and a marble tiled bathroom.
A number of our rooms have recently been refurbished with more planned in the near future. We have a mixture of styles of room, offering en suite facilities.
