Carlton House is a lovingly restored 1830s Georgian Townhouse combining original features with modern amenities creating an elegant yet contemporary feel. Whether it is site seeing you are looking or or just a fun day out there really is something for everyone and its all done within a friendly home like atmosphere. You can visit such attractions as the Castle Museum in York or the National Railway or Yorkshire Air Museums as well as getting a ride on one of York's sight seeing buses. You can also get a tour of the York Dungeon, visit the popular racecourse or take a trip on York's Boats and enjoy the sights. There are also a host of restaurants and bars to enjoy an evening out with your loved ones within a stroll of Carlton House.

Made up largely of double rooms, each room is decorated with its own individual style, complete with flat screen colour TV, radio alarm, hair-dryer, tourist information pack, hospitality tray with a selection of tea, coffee, biscuits and complimenatry bottled water. There are 4 large family rooms available which can sleep between 4 and 5 guests and they have the same facilities as the double rooms. All of the rooms come with en-suite facilities and have complimentary toiletries and magazines. The dining room is spacious and will seat up to 25 guests at a time.

We are a family oriented bed & breakfast and so do not take reservations for stag and hen party bookings. Sorry, no pets. Holds the York Tourism award for Guest House of the Year for 2008 and Finalist for Guest House of the Year for 2010, 2011 and 2012. Tourist Board 4 star guest accommodation. Private car park to the rear and off road permit parking. Free Wi Fi internet access throughout and free guests PC in reception. Im afraid we dont take pre-booked Saturday night only reservations, bookings for Saturday night can only be made on the day.
