Directions

If travelling from the North, follow the A19 to the city walls and turn left at the lights. Turn right at the next set of lights into Lord Mayors Walk. Turn left at the next Lights; this is Monkgate. The Cavalier is about 250 yards on the left. Directions from the South, Approaching York on the A64, pass through the traffic lights on the dual carriageway (this is the start of the York bypass) and take the third exit towards York -the York / Hull A1079. Follow the road to the third set of lights, at the city walls, and turn right onto Foss Islands Road. Go straight over the next set of lights and follow the city walls -this road is one way. Take the right hand lane and turn right at the traffic lights. This is Monkgate, the Cavalier Hotel is about 250 yards on the left.
