Set in fourteen acres of land, it’s an ideal base for walking holidays allowing you to enjoy the many walks from Field House and explore the unspoilt Shibden Valley, with excellent facilities for leisure guests seeking elegance alongside a friendly and hospitable service.
Pat and Geoff will happily give you plenty of information about the local areas, such as Hebden Bridge, Haworth, Holmfirth and Saltaire. Field House is a listed property that has comfortable and up-to date facilities including flatscreen TVs and a free WiFi connection in each and every spacious bedroom. Three guest rooms are available, all with delightful views of the gardens, which look particularly attractive when the flowers are in full bloom and the sun shines over the fields. Winter breaks are equally pleasing with occasional snow highlighting the natural beauty of the surrounding hills. If you do choose to visit in winter, the log fire in the guest lounge will be sure to make your stay a cosy and comfortable one, welcoming you back after an evening walk as the sun sets. Two of our three bedrooms (one king-size, and one to be configured as a twin or a double) are en-suite, and the third (another twin/double) has a private bathroom giving you the space and privacy you want after a day at work or a visit to fantastic local attractions such as Shibden Hall and Park.
Field House is a family and pet-friendly B&B. Dogs are very welcome and they can accompany you on your walks, and spend evenings by the fire as you relax with a cup of tea. Many young children enjoy meeting the on-site farm animals, and often find a new love for the great outdoors with strolls along the Calderdale Way or in the Bronte Country moors, both within easy reach of the guest house. Parking facilities are available free of charge on site, so you can leave your car behind and explore the area by foot. Delicious breakfasts using home grown and locally seasonal foods are served daily, and evening meals are available by arrangement, though the nearby Shibden Mill Inn offers fantastic meals, voted ‘Pub of the Year’ in Yorkshire.
Business guests working in Halifax can book rooms at Field House and experience home from home comforts. Access to Halifax itself is easy, just a half-hour walk or five minute drive, though the quiet location offers space to rest, relax and unwind after a day in the office.
